ALEX MORGAN BIO

Morgan was born on July 2nd 1989 (Alex Morgan age: 30) to Pamela and Michael Morgan. Morgan was raised by her parents in Diamond Bar, Los Angeles. Morgan played many sports throughout her early years, but didn't really like soccer until she turned 14. Morgan then joined the Cypress Elite club team, winning the Coast Soccer League under-16 championship and finishing in third in the under-19 bracket. Morgan continued to develop her skills in soccer at Diamond Bar High School. The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) selected Morgan as an All-American Athlete. In addition, she was a part of the both state and regional divisions in the Olympic Development Program (ODP). Morgan continued her career in soccer in UC Berkeley. UC Berkeley. She led the California Golden Bears team's scoring in her debut season. She assisted in taking the team into the NCAA Tournament all four years and even made it to the second round twice. Morgan was among the four finalist for the Honda Sports Award. She also became the first Hermann Trophy finalist from her school. Morgan completed her studies at Berkeley in the first semester of 2010 and was ranked as the third best player among the top scorers of all time in goals, points and assists. Morgan played soccer at the collegiate and the national level throughout her studies. The first time she was on the Berkeley team, Morgan experienced an ACL injury that stopped her from playing with the U.S. under-20 women's soccer team until April. Morgan scored her first international goal in Mexico at the CONCACAF Women's U-20 Championship. Morgan took part in the 2008 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup with four goals, winning her team the gold medal among other accolades.Morgan was later absorbed into the senior national team who she replaced and scored several important goals. One of these was winning goals against Italy which earned the U.S. a place in the 2011 World Cup. Morgan was the youngest player of the team, and he was the captain of the team to victory against France. Morgan was the youngest player on the team and helped the team win against Japan.
