Los Angeles in 1970. Her parents relocated to Dallas, Texas shortly after her
birth. She graduated from Booker T. Washington High School, Performing and
Visual Arts situated within the Arts District. She obtained her BFA in acting
at Stephens College, and also trained at the British American Drama Academy. In
addition, she worked for six years at the well-known Dallas Theatre Center and
one year with that theater's Encore Company. Prior to her big screen debut, she
started her acting career in theaters. Her stage credits in theater include
productions of "As As You Like It", "A Funny Thing was Happening
on the Way to the Forum", "Measure for Measure",
"Baby" and "Chicago" as well as numerous others. She stood
out in Michael Cristofer's HBO television series Gia (1998) in which she
appeared alongside Angelina Jolie. This performance has made her a favourite of
viewers and critics alike. Then came the sci-fi time-travel adventure,
Frequency (2000) featuring Dennis Quaid and Neil LaBute's highly anticipated
Nurse Betty (2000) opposite Renee Zellweger, Elizabeth showed her charismatic
acting talents. Elizabeth Mitchell has many credits in TV series, theaters as
well as films. She is still a great actor. In the course of filming Frequency
(2000) she broke her nose. Hertz Rent-A-Car ad for 1994. However, "they
pulled it due to the O.J. thing." David Lee Smith was her boyfriend in
1995. Parents are tax and real estate lawyers with their own firm, located
about 5 blocks away from their home in Dallas. After a lengthy run in the
theatre as Rosalind the actress, she returned to the U.S. after having been in
Europe for a few months. Her parents moved to Dallas, Texas shortly after she
was born in LA, in 1970. She graduated from Booker T. Washington High School
for the Performing and Visual Arts situated in the Arts District of downtown
Dallas, Texas. In 1991 she graduated from Stephens College with a Fine Arts
degree. The back end 2001 was spent as Cyd in a role with Ioan Gruffudd. This
series aired in March 2002 on BBC 1 TV.
