Katey Sagal
A talented, versatile performer, Katey
Sagal is a skilled singer and actress who was a master of both drama and
comedy. She was most well-known for her role in the role of Peg Bundy, a
brilliantly distinctive, bold character on Fox's Married... with Children
(1987). She was nominated for two American Comedy Awards as well as three
Golden Globes throughout the series' lengthy run. As well-known and well-known
as her Peg Bundy persona was, Katey assertively moved on after the show went
off the air. She was not only starring in other TV shows and sitcoms as well as
playing characters that were complete opposites to the outrageous character
that first earned her nationwide attention. In the TV show Sons of Anarchy
(2008), she played the role as Gemma Teller Morrow. This was the Matriarch of a
Hell's Angels-like California biker gang. She was awarded the Golden Globe
Award 2011 for her performance. Catherine Louise Sagal was the daughter of Sara
Zwilling, a singer and Boris Sagal, a noted director of film and television.
Los Angeles native Catherine Louise Sagal started performing at the tender age
of five. She then went on to study voice and acting at the California Institute
of the Arts. She started her career as a singing waitress during her
"salad years" as well as continuing to perform with "The Group
with No Name." After that, she was lucky enough to to hook up with Gene
Simmons (and his 1970s rock group KISS), and got a job. While she was there she
gained invaluable experiences as a backup singer for Simmons as well as other
well-known stars such as Bob Dylan, Olivia Newton-John, Etta James, and Tanya
Tucker. As one of Bette Midler's "Harlettes" she also was a dynamic
performer when she performed live alongside her in Bette's avant-garde stage
shows that took place in the latter part of the 1970s and into the early 1980s.
