Renee Kathleen Zellweger
Renee Kathleen Zellweger, was born in
Katy, Texas on April 25 of 1969. Her mother Kjellfrid (Andreassen), is a former
midwife and nurse born in Norway. Kven (Finnish), in addition to being of
Swedish and Norwegian descent. Emil Erich Zellweger, her father, is a
Swiss-born engineer. They were married in the year 1963. Renee has a brother
named Drew Zellweger, a marketing executive who was born on the 15th of
February in 1967. Renee was part of the drama group at high school when she
became fascinated by acting. In Austin she also took an acting course and
decided to explore acting as a profession. After graduation, she wished to go
back to acting, but Hollywood is a tough city to get into, and so Renee made
the decision to stay in Texas and auditioned for roles in Houston and managed
to secure roles in movies such as Reality Bites (1994) and Empire Records
(1995). Matthew McConaughey (another Hollywood rising star) was her close
friend when she was working on the set of Texas Chainsaw Massacre II: The Next
Generation (1994). Renee saw him working on a project and decided to audition.
The role was given to her in Love , and a 45 (1994). The role received her
enough praise, that she relocated to Los Angeles. Her biggest break came when
she was cast in another film role in The Whole Wide World (1996). Cameron Crowe
was busy casting Jerry Maguire (1996) in which she starred Tom Cruise. Crowe
was considering such actresses as Cameron Diaz, Bridget Fonda, Winona Ryder,
and Marisa Tomei when the actor Zellweger was featured in The Whole Wide World
(1996). He auditioned Zellweger to ensure that he was his Dorothy Boyd. Renee
was able to continue her huge success in small independent films. The film
received more praise from critics and was certain that she would be ready to
make a return to big-budget Hollywood films. Meryl Streep appeared alongside
her in One True Thing (1998). Also, she starred with Jim Carrey in Me, Myself
& Irene (2000) and began to be romantically involved with Carrey
