Markie Post
Markie Post grew-up in Walnut Creek. She
began her professional career as a television and film producer, with projects
like "The New Card Sharks", (1978) and "Card Sharks"
(1986). Post continued to produce projects like Double Dare (1976), and
appeared on various television shows such as E! True Hollywood Story (1996),
Electra Woman (2001) as well as Dyna Girl (2001). Her most memorable TV
performance was as "Christine Sullivan" in Night Court (1984). She
was in an entire 156 episodes of this show, from 1984 to 1992. Marylee
(Armstrong) Post was her mother. She is an accomplished poet and nuclear
scientist Richard Freeman Post (November 14, 1918-April 7, 2015). Had two
daughters with her husband, Michael A. Ross: Katie Ross (born June 26 1987) and
Daisy Ross (born March 30 and died on March 30, 1990). Born in Palo Alto in
California and was raised in Walnut Creek. As an athletics coach, she attended
Las Lomas High School located in Walnut Creek. Lewis & Clark College in
Portland Oregon awarded her a Bachelor of Arts degree. She performed trick
roping at The Wildest West Show of the Stars (1986). She was cremated and her
ashes were returned to Michael A. Ross. She was a lifetime Democrat. Markie
Post passed away on the 7th of August in 2021. She died three months away from
what would have been her 71st birthday, which was on November 4. She died just
27 days after Charles Robinson, her Night Court (1984) co-star who passed away
on the 11th of July 2021. Although the two shows were completely unrelated, Night
Court (1984) ended in 1992 , with her character Christine Sullivan, leaving for
Washington DC, and Hearts Afire (1992) began later that year , with Post
portraying a brand new character, Georgie Lahti, who coincidentally worked in
Washington DC (and later moving to a smaller town).
